Fort Myers man charged in connection with Cape shooting incident
Cape Coral police announced they have made an arrest in relation to a shooting incident that took place at Fuegoz Lounge in the early morning hours last Saturday.
Kunata Barrinton Bolden, 22, of Fort Myers was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated battery (second-degree felony) and improper exhibition of a firearm, a first-degree misdemeanor.
On Dec. 14 just before 2 a.m., Cape Coral Police Department officers responded to the lounge at 428 Del Prado Blvd. N., for multiple gunshots in the parking lot.
Police officials said when officers arrived, they observed several vehicles fleeing and discovered two female victims with gunshot wounds.
“Officers provided medical aid along with medics and they were transported to the hospital,” CCPD officials said in a release. “Their wounds were minor and they were later released.”
A video from a resident nearby garnered much attention on social media, as you could hear multiple gunshots ring out, and see various patrons of the lounge scurry in the parking lot.
CCPD’s Violent Crimes Unit investigated the incident, and later identified the shooter as Bolden.
Police said Bolden was located by the Marshals Fugitive Task Force — Fort Myers Office.
He was arrested on Dec. 18.
