Newly elected Cape Council members to be sworn in Wednesday
Five new Cape Coral City Council members will be sworn into office Wednesday following a resolution certifying the General Election results.
Those to be sworn in include Laurie Lehmann, District 2; Derrick Donnell, District 3; Jennifer Nelson, District 4; Joseph Kilraine, District 5, and Rachel Kaduk, District 7. The join Mayor John Gunter, Bill Steinke, District 1 and Keith Long, District 6, on the eight-member elected board.
The business portion of the agenda includes the appointment of mayor pro tem and appointment of the office manager for the Council offices.
In addition, council memberships and invoices will also be addressed for Florida League of Cities, Florida League of Mayors, Metropolitan Planning Organization, National League of Cities, Southwest Florida League of Cities and US Conference of Mayors.
Council liaison and member selections will also be made for Affordable Housing Advisory Committee committee, audit committee, charter school governing board, transportation advisory committee, community development block grant, planning and zoning commission, metropolitan planning organization, National League of Cities, Horizon Council and Tourist Development.
Council will also establish time for regular meetings in 2025, and discuss January budget workshop dates.
The meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in City Council chambers, 1015 Cultural Park Blvd. The meeting is open to the public.
