Cape man charged after falsely identifying himself as member of CIA

A Cape Coral man was arrested in Collier County New Year's Day after police say he falsely identified himself as a member of the Central Intelligence Agency. Jorge Alberto Alfonso, 61, was arrested by Florida Highway Patrol State Troopers and charged with possession of drugs without a prescription and false impersonation of officials. Alfonso was pulled over on Jan. 1 just after 3 p.m., as FHP troopers observed him driving a 2018 Fort pick-up truck with flashing red and blue emergency lights on Interstate 75. FHP officials said, "Once stopped, the right front passenger, identified as Jorge Alberto Alfonso ... identified himself as being with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Upon further investigation, State Troopers discovered numerous firearms, passports, fake federal agent badges (CIA and others), bulletproof vest etc." FHP troopers took Alfonso to Collier County ...
